What You'll Need to Get Started

Your Identification
We'll need one form of ID from you - whether that's your driver's license number, PAN card, voter ID, passport, student ID, or any other official identification you have handy. The key thing to remember is bringing the exact same ID with you when you visit Corbett that you've listed on your booking form. The park staff will need to match them up for security and record-keeping purposes.

About Safari Payments

Just so you know upfront - once you've paid for your safari, we won't be able to process any refunds. We know plans can change, but this policy helps us manage bookings fairly for everyone wanting to experience the park.

Getting Your Corbett Accommodation Sorted

Every visitor needs proper permits to enter Corbett National Park, but the good news is it's pretty straightforward. You can get everything sorted at the park administration center in Ramnagar.

Here's how it works: bring along photocopies of your ID, and you can get your permit issued right there on the spot - no waiting around or lengthy processes. If you're visiting from another country, just bring your passport and a photocopy, and you're all set.

Your forest lodge permit will be valid for up to three days, which gives you plenty of time to soak in the wilderness experience.

A Few Important Points to Keep in Mind

Your permit is personal to you and can't be transferred to anyone else - think of it like a concert ticket with your name on it. Once we've issued your permit, we can't offer refunds or make changes, so please double-check your travel dates before finalizing everything.

The park management does their absolute best to ensure everyone has a safe and memorable visit, but they can't take responsibility for any personal circumstances or unexpected situations that might arise during your stay.

We know paperwork isn't the most exciting part of planning your adventure, but getting these details sorted means you can focus entirely on enjoying the incredible wildlife and natural beauty that awaits you!

A Closer Look at Dhikala

Dhikala is the crown jewel of forest lodges in Corbett National Park. Nestled 32 kilometers deep in the jungle, it offers breathtaking views of the Ramganga Reservoir. With the most rooms in the park, it’s a popular choice for visitors, and there are two canteens on-site to keep you well-fed.

Managed by the forest department, Dhikala allows you to immerse yourself in the heart of the national park. The picturesque surroundings make it a perfect escape from the hustle and bustle of city life. Plus, it’s the only lodge with electricity in the rooms, making it family-friendly. To reach Dhikala, you’ll enter through Dhangarhi Gate, and the drive through the Dhikala zone is filled with opportunities to spot wildlife. For your safety, the lodge is surrounded by solar fencing. Given its popularity, it’s best to book your permits well in advance.

Dhikala has 32 rooms and 2 dormitories (each with 12 beds), all with attached bathrooms offering hot (solar-heated) and cold water. The two canteens serve a variety of meals—one run by the state tourism department and the other a private establishment.

About the Dhikala Zone

The Dhikala zone is renowned for its stunning landscapes and rich wildlife, making it one of the largest and most visited areas of Corbett National Park. Named after the expansive Dhikala grassland, this zone is home to a diverse range of animals. The Ramganga River flows through here, providing life and beauty to the forest.

You can expect to see everything from majestic Bengal tigers and elephants to deer, wild boar, and even crocodiles. Birdwatchers will be thrilled too, with over 500 bird species spotted here, more than 300 of which are permanent residents. Dhikala also shelters endangered species like hog deer and gharials.

Within Dhikala, five forest lodges are managed by the forest department for visitors: Dhikala, Gairal, Sarapduli, Khinnanauli, and Sultan. All except Sultan are protected by solar fencing for safety. Dhikala is special as the only lodge with a fixed electricity supply.

The Dhikala zone is open to tourists from November 15 to June 15 each year, closing during the monsoon season due to heavy rains and flooded streams. There are several well-developed forest trails to enhance wildlife spotting opportunities.

Jeep access to Dhikala zone requires a permit to stay inside the lodges, while day visitors staying outside can use forest department buses and canters.

We recommend coming with modest expectations—this isn’t luxury accommodation, but an incredible opportunity to immerse yourself in nature’s masterpiece that you won’t find anywhere else.
